In an effort to reduce Vermont’s recidivism rate and support workforce development, CCV is partnering with the Vermont Department of Corrections to deliver the Corrections Post-Secondary Education Initiative. Supported by the federal grant from the Department of Justice, the program provides tuition-free college courses to Department of Corrections staff and Vermonters who are incarcerated.

  • Will be open to DOC staff at all six of Vermont’s correctional facilities, including the state’s women’s prison
  • All DOC residents will have access to CCV courses by the fall of 2025
  • Classes are offered in flexible formats, so students can learn at their own pace
  • CCV faculty and staff provide personalized support, academic advising, and career coaching
