Community-engaged learning is a teaching and learning strategy in which students actively apply the knowledge they are gaining in the classroom to real community needs through involvement in service projects. Service learning is also about teaching students the value of active citizenry.
By electing to have one or more CCV students work with you, you join a growing list of organizations across Vermont who have partnered with us in our community-engaged learning program. Our students have provided service for as few as four hours to as many as 20+ plus hours in a variety of organizations: K-12 schools, alternative education programs, domestic violence shelters, homeless shelters, child and elder care centers, animal shelters, food banks, and environmentally focused agencies.
The success of our community-engaged learning program hinges on the partnerships we forge with our community organizations and businesses. If you would like to learn more about hosting CCV students in your organization, please contact CCV’s Student Services team.
