CCV’s Prior Learning Assessment Program Increases Degree Attainment

45 Vermonters who have taken employer-sponsored Assessment of Prior Learning (APL) classes, in partnership with the Community College of Vermont (CCV), have earned a combined total of more than 1,100 college credits.

Carol Gargon has been teaching art classes at CCV for 31 years. She’s taught graphic design, drawing, pastels, painting, jewelry, printmaking, and a crafting class. This spring, students in her Painting I class in Montpelier had a chance to show their work in CCV president Joyce Judy’s office gallery, where artwork from CCV faculty members is displayed in rotating exhibits.

CCV Announces Three Registered Apprenticeships

Community College of Vermont (CCV) is pleased to announce that it has been approved by the State Apprenticeship Council as a new apprenticeship sponsor. The College will offer registered apprenticeships in Medical Assisting, Pharmacy Technician, and Manufacturing Production Technician beginning in fall 2019.

Evan Spencer admits he was a little intimidated when he learned about the number of hours required for his Professional Field Experience class, the semester-long internship he needed to complete in order to earn his STEM studies degree this spring.

CCV held its 52nd commencement at Norwich University’s Shapiro Field House on Saturday, June 1st. Thousands of Vermonters gathered to celebrate the nearly 500 students earning their associate degrees.

The Community College of Vermont (CCV) will hold its 52nd commencement ceremony at Norwich University’s Shapiro Field House in Northfield, Vermont on Saturday, June 1. The ceremony will begin at 2:00 p.m.
