New Scholarship Opportunities for Vermont Students

This year, CCV and the Vermont State Colleges are offering millions of dollars in scholarships, free tuition, and other financial aid opportunities. Generous funding from the State of Vermont is supporting the following programs for Vermont residents*:

Welcome Home Scholarship: This Vermont State Colleges program provides $5,000 per year for full-time students and $3,000 per year for part-time students who are transferring from an out-of-state institution, or have exited ANY college (including another VSC school) since March 1, 2020. Students must be new to CCV this coming academic year. Students do NOT need to complete a FAFSA to be eligible for this scholarship.

Degree Completion Scholarship: This VSC program provides tuition- and fee-FREE college to students who have not been enrolled in a higher education institution since May 2019. Students can receive up to 30 credits of tuition- and fee-FREE college during the 2021-2022 academic year. Students will be required to complete a FAFSA and Vermont Grant Application through VSAC. Students must be new to CCV this coming academic year.

Critical Occupations Scholarship: This VSC program provides tuition and fees FREE college to any student who is enrolled in the following CCV programs:
Bookkeeping Certificate
IT Service Desk Specialist Certificate
Certified Production Technician
Graphic Design Certificate
Allied Health Prep Certificate
Early Childhood Education Associates
Childcare Certificate

In addition, the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation is supporting the following programs for students at CCV and the Vermont State Colleges:

Green Mountain Grad Gift: This program provides all 2020 and 2021 high school or equivalent graduates one tuition-free course at any VSCS school. Learn more at vsac.org/grad.

802 Opportunity Grant: Another VSAC program, this provides tuition- and fees-FREE college to any student whose family income is $50,000 or less. Students will be required to complete a FAFSA and Vermont Grant Application through VSAC. New AND current students are eligible. Learn more at vsac.org/802Opportunity.

Free Training for Vermonters: Up to two free classes at any VSCS school for Vermonters whose employment has been impacted by COVID-19. To enroll, visit vsc.edu/vtworkers.

* Students must qualify for in-state status based on Vermont State Colleges System Policy 301.
