Once you are logged in to the VSC Bill Payment site, click “Make Payment.”
Select “Pay by term.”
Select “Add” by the amount. Change the amount first if your payment amount is different than the balance.
Click “Continue.”
Select payment method from drop down.
Click “Continue.”
Fill in payment method information and finish by following the prompts.
If you have a payment plan and want to schedule an installment payment, click “Schedule/Pay” under the Payment Plan Installments and proceed with your method of payment. You may edit the payment amount and date on the next screen.
NOTE: If you scheduled automatic payments for the payment plan during plan enrollment, the payment will automatically be charged to the chosen payment method on the scheduled date.
What happens if my payment is returned?
A $25 handling fee will be charged to your account.
What should I do before enrolling in a payment plan?
Complete your financial aid, if applicable. If you enroll in a payment plan prior to completing your financial aid, your financial aid will not be included!
Have your payment method ready. A down payment will be required at the time you set up the plan.
Carefully consider automatically scheduled payments. The real-time payment plan will update your monthly installment payment amount based on changes to your student account. What happens if I am late with a payment?
A $15 late fee will be charged to your account.
When does the payment plan calculate my payments?
The payment plan automatically calculates your installment payment amounts during enrollment and automatically updates your payment amounts after changes are made to your student account. Your payment plan will reflect charges and payments as shown on your e-bill and in the “Activity Since Your Last Statement” on the e-bill screen. Changes to your bill may increase or decrease your upcoming payment. To ensure adequate notice for the payment due on the 15th, the payment amount may decrease but not increase between the 8th day and 15th day of each month. Increases to your bill during that time will only affect future payment amounts.
How does the payment plan notify me of changes to my payment amount?
Urgent communications regarding your payment plan, including changes to upcoming payment amounts, are sent to your CCV email address. If you want notices to go to an additional email address, you must add it on the VSC Bill Payment Site.
Authorized users are only allowed to view the billing account, make payments, and set up payment plans. An authorized user receives an email notification when the student’s monthly statement is uploaded or a payment plan is updated.
How can an authorized user view my bill?

In-state tuition rates apply to students who have maintained legal residence in Vermont for at least one continuous year prior to enrollment. Out-of-state students seeking in-state status must submit a completed In-State Tuition Application, and supporting evidence, to be considered for in-state tuition. As part of the Vermont State Colleges system, CCV follows the Vermont State Colleges’ Residency Policy. To apply for in-state tuition, use the In-state Tuition Application Form.
If you have questions regarding residency for in-state tuition or the NEBHE Tuition Break Program, please contact Karrie Demers, Admissions Specialist, at karrie.demers@ccv.edu or 802-654-0557.
NEBHE and Good Neighbor Tuition Break Program
Permanent residents of other New England states may be eligible for the New England Board of Higher Education (NEBHE) Tuition Break Program which allows them to pay a special tuition rate that is equivalent to the current in-state rate. To qualify, a student must be a permanent resident of and living in a bordering New Hampshire or Massachusetts county (Cheshire, Sullivan, Grafton, and Coos counties in New Hampshire, and Franklin and Berkshire counties in Massachusetts). Students may also be eligible if they are enrolled in a NEBHE approved degree or certificate program that is not available in their home New England state.
CCV’s Good Neighbor program allows New York residents living in Clinton, Essex, Rensselaer, and Washington counties to also receive a discount that makes their tuition equal to the current in-state tuition rate.
Veteran and Military Connected Students
Active duty and discharged military personnel (as well as the spouses and dependents of such military service members) who don’t otherwise qualify for in-state status may be eligible based on their military service. To be considered, please complete the In-state Tuition Application Form and include documentation such as the following:
Proof of active military status or recent discharge. This can include such items as:
Current military orders of applicable service member
DD214 with an honorable discharge
NGB22 with an honorable discharge (National Guard)
DD256 with an honorable discharge (Reservist)
(For Spouses) Proof of Marriage (Marriage License, Federal tax filings showing married status, etc.)
If CCV cancels a course, you will receive a full refund of tuition and fees.
If you choose to drop a course within the official drop period, you will receive a full refund of tuition. The administrative fee is not refundable.
The official drop period is defined as:
For all standard full-semester term courses: Two weeks from the start of the semester. Students who drop a course within the drop period will receive 100% of their tuition refunded. CCV’s administrative fee will not be refunded.
For courses that do not meet for the standard term duration, the following formula-based drop refund calculation is utilized: Course duration is the number of calendar days between the start and end date of the section. The drop refund period is considered 13% of the course duration. Students who drop a course within the 13% drop period will receive 100% of their tuition refunded. CCV’s administrative fee will not be refunded.
You may also be eligible for a refund from financial aid after your tuition and fees are paid. Consult with the financial aid counselor in your academic center for information on your financial aid.
Note: The administrative fee and the payment plan enrollment fee are non-refundable. When extraordinary circumstances warrant your withdrawal from a course(s), you may request an exception to the refund policy, as set forth in the administrative section of the Complaint Resolution for Students Policy. In general, requests for exceptions should be filed no later than sixty (60) days following the course withdrawal.
Students aged 65 years or older are able to audit one class per semester with no tuition charge. They may also take additional courses at any Vermont State College institution at the rate of 50% of the charged tuition. To be eligible for a free audited course, senior citizens must be non-matriculated (not seeking a degree). Senior citizens may also enroll in credit-bearing coursework applicable to degree or certificate programs at the rate of 50% of the charged tuition.
A few rules:
Classes must first attain a sufficient enrollment level, and a senior may not take the place of a paying student in courses with enrollment limits.
Senior citizens must pay relevant administration and course fees.
Suitable evidence of eligibility may be required before a waiver can be issued.
Depending on your desired courses and academic background, you may be asked to complete the skills assessment.
CCV is approved by the Vermont Department of Education for veterans’ education and training benefits. A veteran’s eligibility is established by the Veterans Administration in White River Junction, and the amount of money awarded is determined by the number of credits taken and the number of dependents in the veteran’s family.
Tuition and fees must be paid at the time of registration by the veteran, who is then reimbursed by the Veterans Administration during the semester. Veterans taking fewer than six credits will receive reimbursement for tuition only.
For additional information about the VA Education Benefits for which you may be eligible, visit our veterans benefits page.

AmeriCorps Students
Students who have completed their AmeriCorps term of service can use their AmeriCorps education award funds to pay for educational expenses at CCV. Educational expenses include:
The “Cost of Attendance” (COA) for a degree or certificate-granting program of study at a Title IV school. The COA may include tuition, books and supplies, transportation, room and board, and other expenses. Each Title IV school’s financial aid office determines their students’ COA based upon standard U.S. Department of Education guidance.
Educational expenses for non-degree courses, such as continuing education courses or workshops offered by Title IV schools. Educational expenses that can be paid normally include tuition and fees, books, and supplies, as determined by the school’s administrative office.
As part of the Service Year Alliance, CCV offers 3 matching academic year awards of up to $1,000 each. They are awarded on a first come, first serve basis.
At CCV, we are here to help you cover the cost of college. That’s why we encourage every student to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Vermont Grant Application. Completing these steps will help our financial aid team identify the funding sources you’re eligible for.

Students will be required to complete a FAFSA and Vermont Grant Application through VSAC. New AND current students are eligible.
Use our tuition calculator to get an idea of how much you may pay in tuition and fees. For a more comprehensive estimate that includes things like books and course fees, use our Net Price Calculator. The Net Price Calculator will ask you for your residency status and the number of credits you’d like to take. It can also estimate your financial aid eligibility!
Cost of Attendance
Federal regulations require CCV to provide estimated costs for a student while they are attending CCV. These costs are not all charged by CCV and some students may not have these expenses. These estimated costs are called the Cost of Attendance.
Cost of Attendance has two parts:
Direct costs: These are things that CCV charges you. This usually includes tuition and fees.
Indirect costs: These are things that you may have to pay for while you are attending CCV. They are NOT charged by CCV but they are still things you may pay for while attending. This includes housing, food, books and supplies, transportation, and personal expenses.
Your direct costs are above. Below are what you MAY have for indirect costs. Not every student has these expenses, and they reflect, based upon research, what a typical Vermonter may pay over a 9 month period.
Estimated Costs, 2024-2025 academic year
Estimated Housing
$9,972
Estimated Food
$4,275
Estimated Books, Supplies, and Course Materials
$1,000
Estimated Transportation
$1,800
Estimated Personal Expenses
$4,500
Estimated Total Costs
$21,547
Special or Unusual Circumstances
Our estimated expenses try to provide what is an average cost for a Vermont family. But, families may have additional costs not factored into our estimates. Students have the ability to submit an appeal to help financial aid understand those additional costs.
Other allowances that can be added to the Cost of Attendance include course fees related to specific courses, computer allowance, cost of obtaining licensure, study abroad expenses, dependent care expenses, disability related expenses, cooperative education cost, or fees from federal education loans. Allowances may be pro-rated based on enrollment. If expenses exceed the numbers in the Cost of Attendance, a student has the ability to submit an appeal. Students may talk with their financial aid counselor to learn more details about the appeal.
Auditing a Class
Students may register to “audit” CCV classes for which they are academically prepared. The cost is the same as when taking the course for credit; however, students will not receive an evaluation, course grade, or credit for the course. Audit status must be declared at time of enrollment. View our Course Audit Policy.
