  • CCV Director of Financial Aid Ryan Dulude was selected to participate in the Advocacy Pipeline through the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA). Ryan visited Washington DC to meet with congressional staff from Vermont and discuss strengthening the Pell Grant program, the importance of funding for campus programs, and more.
  • CCV instructor Steve Farrow was featured in Happy Vermont: Vermont Travel Blog, a Vermont travel blog and podcast, for his master’s thesis work in graduate school. The main theme of the conversation was ‘old and lost Vermont town names’. The interview was hosted by the podcast founder and editorial director, Erica Houskeeper.  
  • CCV alumnus Alejandro Toledo Cornman has joined Vermont News & Media as a full-time sports reporter and editor for the Brattleboro Reformer. Alejandro graduated with an associate degree from CCV-Brattleboro then continued on to earn a degree in journalism from University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
  • Former CCV faculty member Meta Strick was featured in Seven Days’ “Stuck in Vermont” series. Meta makes mixed-media art in her gallery next to her home and invites visitors for open houses and workshops. Watch the full episode here.
  • CCV alumna Amanda Strickland overcame addiction and the consequences that accompanied it to earn an associate degree in human services and a certificate in substance abuse counseling from CCV. She is working toward completing two bachelor’s degrees from VTSU-Castleton, with the goal of earning her master’s degree and starting her own end-to-end recovery center, using her own experiences to help others.   • CCV psychology instructor Christian Berry has been appointed as the interim director of Burlington’s Racial Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Office. Christian holds a master’s degree in education and a B.S. in human growth and development.
  • CCV alumnus Matthew Grenier has been hired as the information security officer at Community National Bank. Matthew earned an associate degree in information technology from CCV and has worked in the IT field for over a decade.
  • CCV and the DOC are expanding the Corrections Post-Secondary Initiative (CPSEI). The program offers free college courses to DOC staff and incarcerated Vermonters, and will now include re-entry vouchers to Vermonters ending a carceral sentence or continuing their education upon release.
  • CCV alumna Alexis Cole was featured in the Colchester Sun, sharing her story from CCV to her goals of pursuing a career in mental health. Alexis was a part of CCV’s Early College program and earned her associate degree for free through the Free Degree Promise before transferring to VTSU.
