HEERF Public Disclosure

CCV has applied for and received federal aid through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF), created as part of the federal CARES Act passed on March 27, 2020. This part of the federal CARES Act provides emergency grants to students based upon the disruption of campus operations due to the coronavirus for eligible expenses such as food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, and child care.

CCV has signed and returned the U.S. Department of Education’s Certification and Agreement and intends to use, per federal law, no less than 50 percent of the funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.

Per federal CARES Act reporting guidelines, CCV is pleased to provide the below information.

 Methods used by the institution to determine eligibility for Emergency Financial Aid Grants:

  • Students self-certify to CCV staff or via an electronic application that they incurred unexpected expenses due to the disruption of campus operations due to the coronavirus. For the Spring 2020 and Summer 2020 terms, students can receive up to $1,500 per term of assistance, with students enrolled in less than six credits able to receive up to $750. For the Fall 2020 term, students at all enrollment levels are eligible for a maximum of $750.

CCV has created a web page for students to review eligibility information for CARES Act funds.

CCV also provides the below approval email message when students are approved for CARES funds.

Dear Student:

Thank you for your request for federal CARES fund assistance. We have approved your request for $xxxx to help with unexpected expenses due to interruption of on campus operations because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

You will receive a refund in the next week. Your refund will be send via check to the address we have on file for you unless you have set up to have the funds sent directly to your bank account. Setting up this direct deposit option is simple and easy. You can find instructions at ccv.edu/pay.
