We’re pleased to share the latest edition of updates submitted by CCV’s diverse group of alumni, which includes graduates as well as anyone who took classes and was significantly impacted by their experience at the College.

Brittney Murphy ’23 Behavioral Science
Brittney is a volunteer at a restorative justice center and has recently applied to a nursing program.

Matthew McClintock ’12 Criminal Justice 
University of Vermont ’16 Master of Social Work
Matthew switched gears after he got his CCV associate degree, earning a bachelor of science in psychology at Southern Vermont College in 2014, and then continued to a master’s degree in social work at UVM, graduating in 2016. Matthew worked as a mental health crisis clinician for five years, then worked for one year as an outpatient mental health and substance use clinician at a designated mental health agency. Now he owns and operates his own private therapy practice, helping Vermonters with their mental health struggles.

Rebecca Lowe ’14 Human Services 
Rebecca graduated from Northern Vermont University in 2023 with a master’s degree in counseling. 

Amber Neddo ’15 Business Administration 
Amber started as a temporary receptionist at Vermont State Housing Authority and was hired six months later as a permanent intake specialist. Amber was then promoted to assistant to director, then promoted again to a homeownership specialist. She’s able to work from home, makes her own schedule, and helps Section 8 participants become self-sufficient  homeowners. She owns her own home, has four children, and is using what she learned from her degree every day.

Nicole Rossi ’18 Liberal Arts with an Allied Health Certificate
Northern Vermont University ’20 BA Psychology
After graduating from CCV, Nicole earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology. Following graduation, she worked for two different agencies in social services as a case manager. She is currently working at a community mental health agency as a school-based and outreach case manager supporting youth and families. In 2022, she decided to go back to school to obtain a master’s in social work from the University of New England.

Denny and her husband bought their first home together in Miami in 2023.

Donna London ’10 Business
Champlain College ’18 BA Business
Donna was promoted to a supervisor role at her job and obtained her certified public accountant license.

Sophie Decker ’20 Early Childhood Education
University of Vermont ’23 Early Childhood Education
Sophie is the lead in a preschool classroom of three- and four-year-olds at Christ the King School in Burlington. Sophie and her partner purchased a home in South Burlington last September. Sophie has been able to travel during school breaks thanks to the money that she saved getting her associate degree at CCV.

Stephen Simmons ’10 Liberal Studies
Northern Vermont University ’17 Bachelor’s Degree
Stephen has completed their sixth year in business and has expanded the service area and number of team members.

Felicia Darling
Stanford University ’16 PhD
Felicia’s book, Empathy Unchained™: Heal Your Trauma, Uplift the World is out. Also, her Empathy Unchained™ DEIA Conversation Deck is out. The first can help us heal and make the world better. The Deck can help us have courageous conversations at our organizations to create more fair and inclusive cultures.
