CCV Faculty Recognized for Teaching Excellence

CCV proudly recognizes members of its outstanding faculty with the annual Teaching Excellence Awards. Faculty are nominated by students, staff, and faculty colleagues, and this year 65 instructors received nominations. Recipients are selected by Academic Council, which includes faculty, staff, and student representatives. This year, CCV is pleased to honor Patti Cook, April Zajko, and Sylvia Puglisi.

CCV Honors Founding President Peter Smith

Last week, CCV honored its founding president, Peter Smith, by dedicating a room in his name. A celebration was held on Friday at the Montpelier academic center, where a large meeting space has been renamed the Peter Smith Gathering Place.

A Lifesaving Opportunity

Jesse Rose always had the desire to pursue an education after high school. “I always wanted to go to college, but never had the opportunity,” he said. That is, until he heard about 802 Opportunity. “I would not be at CCV without 802 Opportunity. It's not only given me the chance to go to college, it's given me the chance at a new life.”

The Community College of Vermont (CCV) is pleased to name Candace Lewis as its new Dean of Academic Affairs. She succeeds former Academic Dean Debby Stewart, who retired in June after 31 years at CCV.
