- CCV will hold its 2026 commencement ceremony on June 6 at Norwich University in Northfield, VT. Nearly 500 students will be awarded associate degrees. Will Eberle, founder of Mission Driver Consulting and executive director of Alyssum is this year’s keynote speaker. Student speakers are Darrell Martin and Briana Samaniego.

- Sophia Parker: selfless service – VTDigger Sophia Parker took online classes at CCV to complete prerequisites for her nursing degree. Today, she has earned a bachelor of science in nursing, is a nurse manager at an assisted living facility, served seven years in the Vermont National Guard, and rehabilitates wildlife as a volunteer.

- 13 Investigates: Ghost students stealing financial aid from Capital Region colleges – WNYT.com NewsChannel 13 CCV Associate Dean of Admissions and Enrollment Adam Warrington spoke to News Channel 13 regarding the rise of ‘ghost student’ applications as a mode of financial aid scamming.
- CCV is launching three new programs starting in fall 2026: a liberal studies associate degree with a specialization in education, a paraeducator certificate and a justice studies certificate. The certificate programs stack into CCV’s associate degree programs and provide a pathway for students to continue their education at partner institutions.
- A vision of service led Jess to become a doula, then to pursue her law degree – VTDigger CCV alumna Jess started at the College to take classes that would satisfy the requirements of a midwifery apprenticeship and stayed to earn an associate degree in behavioral science. She utilized 802 Opportunity to attend CCV tuition-free, later earning a bachelor’s degree from VTSU and now pursuing a law degree.
- Amber Roberge promoted to AVP at CNB | Vermont Business Magazine CCV alumna Amber Roberge has been promoted to assistant vice president and business analyst at Community National Bank. Roberge earned an associate degree in accounting from CCV before continuing her education.
- CCV was selected as a 2025 Progress Accomplishment, Thriving, Hope (PATH) Scholarship recipient through the Ellucian Foundation, receiving $10,000 to support urgent student needs through the Life Gap program. Seventeen students received grants ranging from $500-$600.

- Vermont By Degrees: Providing education for veterans | Perspective | timesargus.com CCV serves as Vermont’s “access institution,” welcoming all who can benefit from higher education – including veterans and military-connected students. CCV’s veteran services team provides specialized services to support this population of students and was named as a Military Times Best for Vets 2025 College.
- Rebecca Currier – A Career Teacher | Entertainment | newportvermontdailyexpress.com CCV alumna Rebecca Currier was highlighted for her decades of work as an elementary school teacher in Vermont. She is currently a teacher at Orleans Elementary School, where she has taught since 2001.
- Mentoring made a huge difference for Maura – VTDigger Maura Thompson has plans to go to medical school and become an anesthesiologist. She worked with a VSAC counselor in high school to prepare for college and a future career, who recommended she take courses at CCV to help prepare her for her college plans at SUNY Plattsburgh.
