- CCV is sponsoring the 2025 Southern Vermont Economy Summit. Held in West Dover, VT, the Summit is an annual learning and networking event with the theme “Adapt & Thrive.”
- Pelin Kohn, a coordinator of student advising at CCV-Montpelier, is running for the District 2 city council seat as the incumbent..
- Sarah Kourkoulis of St. Johnsbury uses forgivable loan program to accelerate her teaching career – VTDigger CCV alumna Sarah Kourkoulis took the Assessment of Prior Learning course to earn 45 college credits based on her learning and life experiences. Sarah is now earning her bachelor’s degree and plans to become a teacher.
- Rep. Edye Graning: Laying the groundwork for a stronger Vermont workforce – VTDigger The Vermont legislature supported the creation of the 802 Opportunity Grant, offering Vermonters with a household income of $75,000 or less a free college education at CCV.
- Enosburg Food Shelf recognizes needs of the community | Local News | samessenger.com CCV instructor Cathy Sandvil has been hired as the director of the Enosburg Food Shelf.
- Area students were named to the president’s, dean’s, and student honors lists for the fall 2024 semester.
- Vermont State Colleges reports record uptake in early college program | Vermont Business Magazine CCV and VTSU enrolled a record number of Early College students in the fall 2024 semester. 377 high school seniors are earning college credits tuition-free while also completing their final year of high school.
- Melissa Tinker promoted to Assistant Human Resources Officer and Training Coordinator at CNB – Newport Dispatch CCV alumna Melissa Tinker has been promoted to assistant human resources officer and training coordinator at Community National Bank.
- Mauch: Education and training post-high school | Perspective | timesargus.com VSCS Chancellor Beth Mauch wrote about the importance of accessible and affordable postsecondary education in Vermont. CCV is meeting this need by offering 12 academic centers across the state and the center for online learning, along with no- and low-tuition programs.
- Vermont philanthropist Lois McClure, co-founder of the J. Warren and Lois McClure Foundation, passed away in January. The McClure Foundation supports CCV college and career readiness initiatives. Carolyn Weir, executive director of the McClure Foundation says the foundation’s work will continue.
