- Cold Hollow’s ‘Educator Rising’ debut year a success | Local News | samessenger.com Students in Cold Hollow Career Center’s two-year Educator Rising program, which prepares high school juniors and seniors for careers in education and human services, will take two CCV courses per year. These courses provide transferable college credit.
- USA Nordic sends 8 to University Games | News, Sports, Jobs – Adirondack Daily Enterprise CCV student Evan Nichols went to the 2023 World University Games in Lake Placid in January to compete as part of the USANS National Nordic Combined Team.
- Vermont’s Childcare System Isn’t Working for Providers or Parents. They Hope Help Is on the Way. | News | Seven Days | Vermont’s Independent Voice (sevendaysvt.com) In an effort to address the persistent child care issue in Vermont, the state has funded scholarships for early childhood educators to get a degree in the field. Early childhood education is the most popular field of study at CCV, with 459 students enrolled in degree and certificate programs.
- Community College of Vermont and Local Hospital Team Up to Pay Students to Take Classes | Diverse: Issues In Higher Education (diverseeducation.com) CCV and the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC) are partnering to offer the Early Childhood Residency Program. The program pays ECE students who increase their course load $3,500 to cover living expenses.
- Union Mutual to support workforce development program at CVMC | Vermont Business Magazine (vermontbiz.com) Union Mutual will donate $50,000 to CVMC’s Workforce Development: Nursing & Clinical Pathways Program over the next 5 years. This money will help fund nursing career pathway initiatives in collaboration with CCV and VTC.
- CCV student Evan Nichols was part of a Nordic combined team that won a gold medal at the World University Games. This was the first time the U.S. received a gold medal in the Games.
- The 802 Opportunity Grant, offered by CCV and VSAC, has expanded to offer free tuition to Vermonters with an annual family income under $75,000. This grant has helped students overcome the barrier of cost to receive a college education.

- VSAC scholarship booklet puts students in touch with funding opportunities | Community News | benningtonbanner.com The 2023 VSAC scholarship booklet holds information on 173 scholarships, including the VELCO STEM Studies Scholarship, which is awarded to a student who has received a CCV associate degree and plans to pursue a bachelor’s in a STEM field.
- Governor Scott proposed an $8.4 billion state budget for fiscal year 2024. This budget would allocate $10 million to reduce CCV’s tuition by half for certain programs, including child care, education, engineering, and accounting, in an effort to meet the workforce needs.

- CCV and Upright Education Launch New Pathway to Careers in Tech – PR.com CCV, in partnership with Upright Education, is offering a Tech Sales bootcamp beginning February 13. This bootcamp provides an opportunity to begin a high-demand career as a sales development representative.
