MONTPELIER, Vt. — Vermonters have a new pathway to career opportunities in manufacturing in Lamoille County: Community College of Vermont (CCV) is partnering with Manufacturing Solutions Inc. (MSI) and ETS Staffing Agency to offer a new Certified Production Technician (CPT) program this fall.

The program will build on efforts to establish a skilled talent pipeline and further help MSI address growing production needs at its Morrisville facility. Participants will have the opportunity to “earn while they learn” by working at MSI through ETS and attending the training concurrently.

“We are excited about our partnership with ETS and MSI, which has the potential to benefit workers and boost the regional economy in Lamoille County,” said Michael Keogh, director of business engagement at CCV. “We have found that public-private collaborations like this one can help companies continue to thrive while creating opportunities for Vermonters. We look forward to expanding this program.”

The CPT program equips students of all ages with in-demand technical skills and an industry-recognized credential in the manufacturing sector. The program consists of four certificate modules: Safety, Quality Practices & Measurement, Manufacturing Processes & Production, and Maintenance Awareness, with Green Production as an optional fifth module.

“Partnering with MSI and Community College of Vermont to further the CPT program is an exciting step for our team,” said ETS President and CEO Deborah Cleary. “It’s always been the mission of ETS to provide our client companies with an entire ecosystem of solutions to help them build world-class teams. As we continue to expand our footprint in Vermont at an accelerated pace, it is as important as ever that we continue to align our processes, technology and relationships to meet our clients’ needs while also supporting the health of the community. With programs like this, we are doing just that.”

MSI positions offer excellent benefits including competitive compensation, a sign-on bonus, referral bonuses, on-site gym, free physical therapy, available overtime, scheduling flexibility, ergonomic workstations and more. Along with these benefits, students of the CPT program are guaranteed forward growth and a pay increase after successful completion of the training.

Community members are invited to a Virtual Open House to learn more about the CPT program on Wednesday, August 5th at 10:00am. Registration is required. Visit https://admissions.ccv.edu/register/msi to register. The inaugural session of CPT for MSI starts this September. Space is limited. For more information and to register for the CPT program, contact Tyler Davis at ETS via phone at 802.540.8371 or email at tdavis@etsjobs.com.

CPT for MSI would not be possible without the dedication of ETS Staffing Agency, Vermont Department of Labor, and Creative Workforce Solutions.
