Vermont’s Dual Enrollment (DE) program offers Vermont high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to earn up to six free college credits at CCV. That means your credits help you finish high school and start college, all at the same time!

Dual Enrollment allows you to take classes that interest you. Explore courses that meet general education requirements so they transfer easily, or choose a course in a field that you’d like to pursue as a career or when you go to college. Make sure you select a course that is listed on your Personal Learning Plan as it will need to be approved by your high school counselor.

Some high schools offer on-site Dual Enrollment courses. These are called Concurrent Enrollment courses. These courses are taught by high school teachers and are held during the school day. Concurrent Enrollment courses earn both college and high school credit and are free to students using vouchers. Ask your school counselor if Concurrent Enrollment courses are offered at your school.

How to Sign Up for Dual Enrollment

  • Apply to CCV by filling out the application at apply.ccv.edu. It’s free and takes about 10 minutes to complete.
  • Browse our course schedule and choose a class from your PLP.
  • Reach out to your local CCV center to enroll. To apply for a voucher for your free courses, including Dual Enrollment, Concurrent Enrollment, and Fast Forward, you need to create a student account on the Vermont Agency of Education website. After you complete your account, your school counselor will verify your eligibility. Then you can log in and request vouchers for free courses.

Talk with your high school guidance counselor about applying your college credits toward your high school credit requirement. Students under the age of 16 need special permission to enroll at CCV. Contact your local CCV center for information.
