  • CCV sponsored this recognition event for Southern Vermont Emerging Leaders at the annual Economic Development Summit in May. This event celebrated young people from the Bennington and Windham regions based on their work as community leaders and volunteers. As sponsors, CCV representatives from our Brattleboro center were invited to announce the 2024 cohort of Emerging Leaders.
  • CCV President Joyce Judy was featured on the cover of the August 2024 edition of Vermont Business Magazine. The spread, titled “Inventing What a College Can Be: President Joyce Judy and CCV,” highlights parts of Joyce’s life and her leadership at the College. 
  • The May edition of the United Ways of Northwest Vermont Mental Health Initiative featured a section on “Accessibility in College After High School.” In this section, CCV accessibility resource advisor Marie Frietze was highlighted for her work leading a workshop to educate community members about accessibility in college after high school. Marie also co-chairs the Pathways of Wellbeing Project.
  • CCV sponsored two large summer outreach events at Devil’s Bowl Speedway and Thunder Road. CCV staff were able to highlight the College’s offerings, promote fall classes, and hand out CCV swag. In addition, CCV spent a night in June tabling at a Lake Monsters game. 
  • CCV has been selected as one of 18 recipients to join the prestigious Metallica Scholars Initiative (MSI). CCV will receive a generous $75,000 grant to enhance career readiness among students pursuing IT and cybersecurity programs. Read the press release here.
  • Bryan O’Connor, director of corrections education at CCV, was interviewed for the podcast Present Time, hosted by CCV faculty member Katherine Bielawa Stamper. Listen to the full podcast here.
  • CCV President Joyce Judy joined Scott Giles, president and CEO of VSAC, on Across the Fence to talk about the 802 Opportunity program, which provides free tuition for Vermonters whose family income is under $75,000 and who do not yet have a bachelor’s degree.
