- CCV student Noah Lafaso wrote a story published by UVM as part of his media studies class. CCV is collaborating with UVM’s Reporting and Documentary Storytelling Program to write stories about researchers and students. Lafaso’s story featured philosophy professor Kate Nolfi and her research into ‘good’ maps and how people’s beliefs shape our ‘mental economies’.
- CCV alumna Kendra Noyes has been hired by the NEK Council on Aging as the Fiscal/Benefits Coordinator. Noyes earned her associate degree in office management from CCV and has gained over 20 years of office management and administrative experience to prepare for this new position.
- Cindy Swanson, coordinator of teaching and learning at CCV, is the newest board member for the Orleans County Restorative Justice Center. Her teaching, nonprofit, and community experiences will help the Justice Center in projects related to their mission of improving the quality of life in the community.
- CCV-UV Coordinator of Student Advising Erin Wetherell has been selected for the Snelling Center’s Vermont Leadership Institute Class of 2021. This program works on personal leadership, systems thinking and innovation, and leadership patterns that support diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- CCV-St. Albans has moved to its new location! Now in downtown St. Albans on the corner of Congress and Main Street, the new center has classrooms with updated technology and a new lab for teaching health and science courses. CCV shares the building with VTC and the Northwestern Medical Center, working together to offer a nursing program in St. Albans.
- The CCV community recognized first-gen students on National First-Generation College Celebration Day, November 8, and honored our veteran and military students on Veterans Day, November 11. The success of these students is a top priority at the College as we support and challenge all students to meet their educational goals.
- CCV students were honored in a virtual reward ceremony for their achievements as leaders. One student from each academic center and the Center for Online Learning, totaling 13, received Leadership Scholarships in the amount of $1,000. Students received care packages with their Leadership Scholarship certificates in the mail and were celebrated via Zoom.
