  • CCV staff from across the state have sent words and pictures of encouragement to students during this difficult time and throughout the transition to online learning. To see messages to students from various centers and staff, visit the CCV Facebook page.
  • CCV faculty member April Zajko was featured in the Caledonian Record as she and her family successfully made the transition to distance learning as schools across the state closed due to COVID-19. April is a preschool teacher and CCV instructor, her husband Stan is a middle and high school teacher, and her children are in elementary and high school. Embracing the use of the Internet and online work has become the norm in their family.
  • Former CCV student Gabriella Heermans has been named a recipient of a Fulbright Research Award. Heermans graduated from UVM in 2017, and she is now a cross-cultural psychology graduate student studying refugee relations in Turkey. As a Fulbright she will return to Turkey to gather more data on refugee-related issues and volunteer at non-governmental organizations.
  • CCV-Brattleboro graduate Emmalee Waite was featured in the Brattleboro Reformer for her work in the field of early childhood education. Waite started her education at the Windham Career Center in the early childhood education program, earning 12 college credits by the time she graduated in 2017. These credits were then able to transfer over to CCV where she earned her associate degree. She is now employed at Horizon Early Learning Center in Brattleboro and is working toward a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education.
  • CCV-Rutland graduate Julia Pliscofsky was featured in the Rutland Herald for the mural she created and gifted to CCV. Pliscofsky worked on a mural of the periodic table of elements in her home for 6 months before it was transported to CCV as a gift to show her appreciation for the College. The mural hangs in the science wing of the CCV-Rutland center.
  • CCV dual enrollment students Austin Archambault and Miya Hatch were named valedictorian and salutatorian of the Richford Jr-Sr High School class of 2020. Austin completed four CCV classes while Miya has completed two and is currently enrolled in a third. Both students have been fully involved in their schools and communities throughout high school and are planning to continue their education in the fall.
