Karen Steever ’12 Multimedia Communications
Johnson State College ’16 Bachelor of Education
After CCV, Karen earned her bachelor’s degree at Johnson State College. After graduating from Johnson, she taught for five years as a special educator at Flood Brook School in Londonderry, Vermont. Eventually she transitioned to teaching in the classroom and has been a second grade teacher at Flood Brook for over two years now.

Erica Toussaint ’09 Criminal Justice
Johnson State College ’13 Bachelor of Arts
Since graduation Erica has accomplished so many things and experienced so many opportunities. She got married in 2021 and has a blended family of 8 children and 6 grandchildren. She has written and published four books and is currently working on the fifth. Erica is a behavioral specialist with NCSS and would not have been able to have this opportunity without the education of CCV and JSC. She loves her job and the staff that she works with and couldn’t be happier.

Morgan Williams ’18 Early Childhood Education
Northern Vermont University ‘23 Early Childhood Education
Since graduation Morgan got married in 2019 and had her first child in 2021. She also became the director of the childcare and preschool that she’s worked at for almost nine years.

Susan Beshars ’14 Liberal Studies
Susan has been assistant head teller at TD Bank for nine years.

Alli Cusson ’18 Accounting
Thanks to CCV’s college classes being so affordable, Alli was able to buy her first house at the age of 22 (she was able to go to college and paid as she went so had no college debt). She landed many great jobs to be able to make enough to make ends meet and save for her down payment on her first house.

Katlyn Farland ’16 Liberal Studies
Katlyn is working in private home care. She and her family are now living in Manchester Center, Vermont and her daughter is in kindergarten.

Jennifer Elwood ’08 Liberal Arts
Johnson State College Liberal Arts
Jennifer has been married for 15 years. She has two adult sons, two teenage daughters, and a grandson.

Courtney Lynch ’20 Early Childhood Education
Northern Vermont University ’23 Bachelor’s Degree
Courtney got married in October 2022, graduated with her bachelor’s degree in May 2023, and plans on getting her master’s degree. She currently works at Northshire Day School as a toddler teacher, and has  an amazing mentor.

Blake Larner-Crepeau ’15 Liberal Studies
Champlain College ’19 Computer and Digital Forensics
Blake completed his associate degree at CCV and continued on to Castleton for one semester where he excelled and raised his GPA enough to be accepted at Champlain College where he then finished his DFIR degree. After graduating, Blake traveled to Germany for a year of work before moving back to Burlington for a fully remote role at Palo Alto Networks. He valued his time at CCV during a period in his life when he did not have direction. Blake enrolled in CCV one week prior to classes starting despite previously not wanting to go to college. Classes were affordable enough to explore his interests and make mistakes without the concern of overwhelming debt. He remembers how many classes he failed and how much longer it took him to complete that degree, but once he found a passion it became easier to excel and he maintained a 3.5+ GPA throughout the rest of his education. Although still having to take out loans to attend Champlain College, it would have been nearly twice as expensive overall had he not completed courses at CCV and Castleton.

Stephanie Stowe ’14 Human Services
Northcentral University ’22 Master’s Degree
Stephanie is currently engaged and raising a stepson. She and her family live in Bennington with a beautiful mastiff/cur mixed breed dog. She currently works with children with autism for the SVSU school district. Stephanie is completing field work hours to become a board certified behavior analyst.
