We’re pleased to share the latest edition of updates submitted by CCV’s diverse group of alumni, which includes graduates as well as anyone who took classes and was significantly impacted by their experience at the College.

Alexis Palmer ’16 Business
Granite State College ’25 Applied Psychology: Education Advocacy
Alexis went back to school at Granite State College. She earned a 4.0 GPA and now has a three-year-old son. She works full time as a developmental educator at a nonprofit, has started up an inclusivity-centered playgroup, and serves on the organization’s DEI team.

Geneva Horster ’21 Early Childhood Education
Geneva was hired to work as an English teacher in a bilingual preschool in Munich, Germany.

Ashley Ritchason ’15 Applied Science
After graduating, Ashley went on to care for her daughter and work in the medical field using everything she learned from the medical assistant program at CCV. She has moved to North Carolina, gotten married, and has four children. Ashley is now currently going back to school online for a bachelor’s degree in business with the hopes of opening and running her own business.

Patricia A. Bartlett ’12 Associate Degree
Patricia is the administrative assistant for the American Legion Auxiliary located in Montpelier, VT.

Joseph Metzler ’22 Liberal Studies
In Joseph’s current full-time role as a realty specialist, he manages the 99th Readiness Division’s real estate inventory. He and his team inventory and account for all the Army Reserve property in 13 northeastern states. He also conducts acquisitions, disposals, and grants for Army Reserve property. Joseph and his wife were relocated to New Jersey to be close to headquarters. He is also a part-time warrant officer in the Army Reserve.

Completed her master’s degree from Vermont State University in 2023.

Steve Legge ’17 Graphic Design
University of Maine at Orono ’23 Bachelor’s in University Studies
After graduating from CCV, Steve still wanted to complete his studies and earn a bachelor’s degree through the University of Maine. He attended Maine for three years in the 1980’s but left well short of his degree. With the credits he had from his first time at Maine and the credits he received for the classes he took at CCV, he only needed an additional six classes to earn his degree in University Studies. By taking one class per semester, including the summer, Steve was able to earn his degree. It just took a few extra years!

Nikita Lenahan ’23 Early Childhood Education
Vermont State University ’24 Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education
Nikita is excited to get her teaching license and to open a new childcare center.

Megan Goodell ’15 Human Services
Megan joined Collaborative Solutions Corporation in April of 2022 as a recovery support specialist. In September of 2023 she was promoted to clinical paraprofessional, in which she worked directly with the clinical director of a residential facility and facilitated groups for residents.

Christa Anderson Carter ’16 Business and Graphic Design
Christa has worked for over seven years at Dealer.com, and got married three years ago.

Amy Lear ’22 After School Program Certificate
Amy graduated from Northern Vermont University in 2008 with a degree in psychology and continued her education, earning a certificate from CCV in 2022.

Corey Harman ’23 Behavioral Science, Substance Abuse Certificate
Corey started his degree program in 2015 while he was struggling with addiction and the revolving door of incarceration. His education allowed him to learn another side of addiction and gave him the skills to figure out what he wanted to do with his life. Now, Corey is over six years clean and sober and is working for the courts in Burlington through restorative justice programming, helping people to overcome the same obstacles that tripped him up for so many years of his life. 

Edward Vizvarie ’01 Business
Edward retired in 2019 after over 27 years working at the Howard Center. Edward and his wife love to travel all over the USA. They also have a grandson who lives close by who they see a lot.  

Rebecca Crittenden ’10 Business
Rebecca’s degree from CCV enabled her to be hired as a database analyst for Saratoga Casino and Raceway (SCR). Her position at SCR led to partnership with a startup software company called VizExplorer. When she left SCR to relocate to Colorado, Rebecca reconnected with VizExplorer and was hired as a support analyst. Over the next five years she worked her way to support team lead, then support manager where she was responsible for a global team of five, reporting directly to executive leadership. She was laid off at the height of COVID. Rebecca was able to land a very similar role with Forecast and has been with the company for three years.

Tyler Morris ’19 Human Services 
Catholic University of America ’24 Master of Social Work
Tyler graduated with his Master of Social Work degree while working full time and having two children under five years old.
