Overview
Build a strong foundation for a career in education through CCV’s degree in liberal studies with specialization in education. You’ll have the opportunity to take classes in a wide variety of subjects with foundational courses that prepare students for entry‑level education and support professional roles in K–12 settings. Combining a broad liberal arts education with core coursework in education, the program lays the groundwork for transfer to a four-year teacher education program and also includes completion of CCV’s paraeducator certificate—giving students both practical skills and a clear next step toward working as an educator.

With a CCV degree in liberal studies with specialization in education, you’ll be prepared to:
- Pursue a career in K-12 education and apply inclusive, developmentally appropriate instructional, behavioral, and social‑emotional support practices
- Communicate clearly and confidently in writing and speaking

Students who graduate from CCV with a liberal studies with specialization in education degree can choose from multiple transfer pathways into bachelor’s degrees, including 2+2 pathways that guarantee just 60 more credits after earning an associate degree at CCV.
