  • Candace Lewis has been appointed CCV’s new Dean of Academic Affairs. She succeeds former Academic Dean Debby Stewart, who retired in June after 31 years at CCV. Lewis has served in various academic leadership roles at CCV since 2007,  most recently as associate academic dean. 
  • CCV staff members talked with hundreds of Vermonters at Thunder Road and Devil’s Bowl Speedway, spreading awareness of the College with prospective students, sharing information about CCV, and giving out swag.
  • CCV instructor Stephanie Bush was featured in the Shelburne News. The article highlights how her work has evolved over time, from landscapes to the human form, and muses about where her work will take her next.
  • Susan Whitehead, reference and teaching research librarian at CCV, was highlighted in The Bridge for her part in creating the Dyslexia-Positive Libraries Initiative. This initiative helps other librarians and literacy workers create “dyslexia-positive” libraries to offer spaces and design activities for children with dyslexia.
  • CCV student Leah Lane received a scholarship from the Brattleboro Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. This scholarship is awarded to local high school graduates pursuing careers in healthcare. Leah plans to attend CCV before transferring to Greenfield Community College’s nursing program.
  • CCV alumni Erika Fabreau and Bethany Kriger received scholarships from the Brattleboro branch of the American Association of University Women. Erika will attend the University of Tampa to prepare for a career as an orthodontist, and Bethany is transferring in 2026 to the University of Vermont to study pre-law.
  • CCV student Thomas Saunders received a scholarship from the Vermont Retail and Grocers Association’s (VRGA) Scholarship Program. This scholarship is awarded to high school graduates who are advancing their education at accredited colleges and other post-secondary educational institutions. Thomas is employed by Hannaford supermarkets in Bennington, which recommended him for this scholarship.
  • CCV-Brattleboro staff participated in Brattleboro’s August 1st Friday / Gallery Walk. They talked with community members about the value of higher education and CCV offerings, played cornhole with attendees, and awarded CCV prizes.
  • CCV student Kailuna Holmes received the Jesse M. Corum IV scholarship from the Brattleboro Rotary Club (funded by the Gateway Foundation). This $2,500 scholarship is awarded to a CCV student in their second year of study in the early childhood education program.
