- School-to-bedside: Building a Pipeline to Support America’s Health Care Future | AHA News CCV offers the Career Pathway Entry Program, which provides learners an opportunity to earn while they learn. Students explore industries, participate in job shadows with local employers, and gain college credit. Copley Hospital is one partner offering multiple job shadow positions, giving students an insight into working in the healthcare field.
- Spot-On: Five Artists Not to Miss at Art Hop CCV instructor Claud Lehman showcased his work at this year’s South End Art Hop in Burlington. In his studio in the South End, Lehman creates pottery, displays his completed pieces, and teaches small group classes.
- Pascaline Furaha defies doubt and finds her future through Early College – VTDigger Winooski High School student Pascaline Furaha spent her senior year at CCV through the Early College program. Furaha was able to simultaneously fulfill high school graduation requirements while also earning college credits. She continued to take classes the year after high school graduation, and is currently working towards completing an associate degree at CCV.
- CCV has dedicated a gathering space at the CCV-Montpelier center in honor of founding president Peter Smith. A celebration of the newly named Peter Smith Gathering Space was held on August 22.
- Candace Lewis has been named as CCV’s new dean of academic affairs. Lewis has worked at CCV since 2007, and succeeds Debby Stewart who retired earlier this summer.
- Upper Valley students earn degrees from University of Rhode Island – Valley News CCV has been awarded a $50,000 grant through the Metallica Scholars Initiative. This funding will support students studying cybersecurity and IT in five certificate programs through scholarships. This program is a collaboration between All Within My Hands and the American Association of Community Colleges.
- Harwood Hall of Fame to add five new members on Nov. 15 — Waterbury Roundabout Lois Knight Sabin has been inducted into the Hardwood Union Hall of Fame. She is highlighted for her contributions to the community, dedication to the field of nursing, and development of a psychiatric technician curriculum that was adopted by CCV.
