- A literal journey: To get to class, Brad Hubbs commutes five hours—via three buses and a bike—twice a week – VTDigger CCV student Brad Hubbs is dedicated to earning a degree in STEM studies – so much so that he’s navigated Vermont’s public transit system to get to his classes each week (totaling 5 hours of travel each day). - Isabel Frei receives two Phi Theta Kappa awards | Vermont Business Magazine CCV student Isabel Frei has received two scholarships from the Phi Theta Kappa honor society. Isabel was named a 2026 New Century Transfer Scholar and was selected as a member of the 2026 All-Academic Team. Her scholarships total $5,750. Isabel will graduate with an associate degree in behavioral science in June, and plans to transfer to a four-year program this fall.
- CCV enrollment is growing and changing | Vermont Business Magazine CCV is recognizing the changing needs of students and how they want to access their education. While CCV saw a 5% increase in spring 2026 enrollment, more students are choosing to take courses online (a 69% increase between 2019 and 2025) and access advising and other services remotely.
- Ashley Andreas uncovered a passion for environmental building practices–and lifelong learning – VTDigger CCV alumna Ashley Andreas took a nontraditional path through college, returning to education as a young parent after early setbacks. With support from CCV and VSAC, she built practical skills that led to a career in affordable housing and community leadership. Read Ashley’s story on VTDigger or CCV Now.
- High school juniors can apply for associate degree | Community | vtcng.com Vermont high school juniors can apply to earn a free, fast-tracked associate degree at CCV through the Free Degree Promise. Available for the classes of 2027 and 2028, students can spend their senior year of high school in CCV’s Early College program, earning college credit tuition-free while completing their high school diploma. Students can then continue full-time for a second year at CCV through FDP, earning their associate degree tuition-free.
- Vermont By Degrees: Lifelong learning needs | Perspective | timesargus.com The demographics of college students are changing, with the average age and percentage working full- or part-time increasing. These students are looking for flexible pathways to completing their education, and CCV is meeting these needs through online and hybrid courses, the Prior Learning Assessment program, and stackable credentials and certificates.
- Ellucian Foundation Awards $700,000+ in PATH Scholarships to 58 Global Colleges and Universities to Support Student Financial Stability CCV has been selected as a 2025 Progress, Accomplishment, Thriving, Hope (PATH) Scholarship recipient and received $10,000 to support students facing economic hardships and subsequent educational disruptions.
- CCV students were named to the president’s, dean’s, and academic honors lists for the fall 2025 semester.
