- New program offers Vt. inmates free classes to prepare for life after prison (wcax.com) A partnership between the Vermont Department of Corrections and CCV provides opportunities for corrections staff and inmates to take college courses for free. This federally funded program has the goal of the program is to decrease recidivism in Vermont.
- VDOL announces grant recipients for the 2023 Work-Based Learning and Training Program | Vermont Business Magazine (vermontbiz.com) CCV is one of 17 recipients of a Work-Based Learning and Training grant from the Vermont Department of Labor, supporting the transition of students into the workforce.
- CCV receives $10,000 to support students’ basic needs | Vermont Business Magazine (vermontbiz.com) CCV was selected as a 2023 Progress, Accomplishment, Thriving, Hope (PATH) Scholarship recipient through the Ellucian Foundation. The $10,000 scholarship supported urgent student needs through CCV’s Life Gap Grant program.
- Sociologist and Author Nikhil Goyal Talks Education, Books and Bernie | Books | Seven Days | Vermont’s Independent Voice (sevendaysvt.com) While working as a senior policy advisor for Senator Bernie Sanders, Nikhil Goyal had a hand in the proposal and creation of the corrections education program offered through a partnership between CCV and the Vermont Department of Corrections.
- CCV Graduate, Faculty Member Receive VTAEYC Early Childhood Education Awards | Education news | caledonianrecord.com The Vermont Association for the Education of Young Children (VTAEYC) awarded CCV alumnus Matthew Moore with the Early Childhood Education Student of the Year award and faculty member April Zajko with an Outstanding Member Award.
- Billings-Berg: More nursing seats are coming to Vermont State University | Vermont Business Magazine (vermontbiz.com) A partnership between CCV, VTSU, and CVMC allows students to study to become an LPN while also working and earning a paycheck.
- Life took non-trad student in different directions – Castleton Spartan CCV alumna Suzanne Fontaine, mom of two and business owner, is working on completing her degree at VTSU in global studies.
- Dual enrollment is a big deal at Brattleboro Union HIgh School, Windham Regional Career Center | Local News | reformer.com Through dual enrollment, CCV offers vouchers for two free courses to Vermont high school juniors and seniors to get a jumpstart on college.
- CCV, State of Vermont support workforce development for state employees | Vermont Business Magazine (vermontbiz.com) In the spring 2023 semester, CCV offered a workforce development opportunity to state employees through CCV’s APL class. Twenty students enrolled and earned an average of 45 college credits.
- ‘Bennington County’s Got Talent’ now accepting applications | Community News | benningtonbanner.com Applications for the 2024 Bennington County’s Got Talent show are now being accepted. The show was won in 2023 by CCV student Gretchen Sausville.
- Bethany College president will be Vermont State Colleges’ new chancellor – VTDigger In 2024 Elizabeth Mauch will become the chancellor of the Vermont State Colleges, a system made up of VTSU and CCV.
- Reader Bulletins: Dec. 1-7, 2023 | Rhvm | rutlandherald.com CCV Financial Controller David Tabaruka is now on the Vermont Futures Project Board of Directors.
- Thunder Road Releases 2024 Schedule – RaceDayCT.com The College will sponsor CCV Night at Thunder Road on August 8, 2024.
- Three students give thanks and give back – VTDigger CCV alumni John Dell’Anno and David Tabaruka (also a CCV staff member), were highlighted in VTDigger, recapping their profiles from 2023 which featured their educational journeys.
