CCV has welcomed a new academic dean. Former associate academic dean Candace Lewis stepped into the role on July 1, following the retirement of former academic dean Debby Stewart, who retired from CCV after 31 years at the College.

CCV received a federal TRIO Student Support Services grant to improve college retention and graduation rates among low-income, first-generation students, and students with disabilities.

Alongside Landmark College, Bennington College, and the Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation, CCV is engaged in the Science and Technology Research Initiative for the Vermont Economy (STRIVE). The grant is provided by the National Science Foundation and aims to nurture the STEM ecosystem in southern Vermont by expanding access to research, educational programs, and workforce development.

For the second year, CCV has been selected for the Metallica Scholars Initiative. In partnership with Metallica’s foundation, All Within My Hands, and the American Association of Community Colleges, the initiative supports the IT & Cyber Careers Scholarship, aimed at enhancing career readiness among students pursuing any of CCV’s five IT certificates.

CCV’s Corrections Post-Secondary Education Initiative, offered in partnership with the Vermont Department of Corrections, was highlighted in a recent interview with outgoing Corrections Commissioner Nick Deml.
