If you’re a Vermont high school student, there are several ways to get started on your college journey at CCV — for free or at a reduced cost. Explore your options below and take the first step toward earning college credit while still in high school.

Introduction to College & Careers (ICC)

Get ready for college — for free.

CCV’s Introduction to College & Careers (ICC) course helps you build the skills you need to succeed in college and beyond. In this free, non-credit class, you’ll learn how to:

  • Set goals and manage time
  • Improve study and communication skills
  • Reduce test anxiety
  • Plan financially for college

To enroll, apply online and select your preferred ICC course section. A skills assessment is not required — you’ll complete it as part of the class.

Dual Enrollment

Earn college and high school credit at the same time.

Vermont’s Dual Enrollment program gives high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to take up to two college courses (six credits) at CCV. These credits count toward both your high school graduation and your college degree.

After you apply for admission, you’ll:

  1. Apply for a Vermont Dual Enrollment voucher.
  2. Schedule a New Student Appointment with an academic advisor.
  3. Complete your skills assessment (or submit recent SAT/ACT scores).
  4. Browse CCV’s course schedule and talk with your high school counselor to confirm your course will count for high school credit.

Students under 16 need special permission to enroll — contact your local CCV academic center for details.

Fast Forward for Technical Center Students

Earn college credit through your tech center.

If you attend a Vermont technical center, the Fast Forward program lets you earn CCV college credits in your technical program area — such as allied health, business, early childhood education, graphic design, or information technology.

To get started:

  1. Apply for admission to CCV.
  2. Complete the skills assessment (ask your tech center counselor).
  3. Contact your counselor to sign up for a Fast Forward course.
  4. Learn more at fastforward.vsc.edu or email CCVSecondaryEd@ccv.edu

Early College

Spend your senior year at CCV.

CCV’s Early College program allows Vermont high school seniors to complete their entire senior year at CCV — tuition-free. You’ll finish high school, earn college credits, and get a jump start on your degree. (Students are responsible for textbooks and applicable fees.)

How to apply:

  1. Submit your Early College admission application by the deadlines:
    • Priority: May 1
    • Final: August 5, 2026
  2. Complete and submit:
    • Educator Recommendation form
    • Graduation Requirements form
    • Principal Assurance form
    • Official high school transcripts (submitted to CCV directly by your school)
    • Short-answer questions (on your application status page)
  3. Complete the Accuplacer assessment or submit qualifying SAT/ACT scores.

After your application is reviewed, you’ll be contacted about your next steps. If accepted, you’ll work with your school counselor and CCV advisor to enroll full-time in college courses.
