Grow your artistic abilities with a CCV certificate in studio art — you’ll get hands-on experience in the studio as well as contextual knowledge of art history and appreciation.
Overview
The program features classes in a variety of mediums, from drawing and design to sculpture and ceramics, and culminates in the creation of a portfolio showcasing your work. Many of your instructors will be working artists who bring real-world experience to the classroom.

With a CCV certificate in studio art, you’ll be prepared to:
- Utilize skills in drawing, painting, and design, and apply theories of color, design, and composition
- Effectively communicate visual concepts and ideas
- Create a portfolio of finished work
- Continue your education to complete a CCV associate degree
If you choose to complete an associate degree and want to continue your education further, CCV has agreements with other institutions across Vermont and throughout the region to make transferring seamless, easy, and affordable.
Students who graduate from CCV with a design & media studies degree can choose from many transfer pathways into bachelor’s degrees, including 2+2 pathways that guarantee just 60 more credits after earning an associate degree at CCV. Additionally, the Vermont Transfer Guarantee provides guaranteed admission and seamless transfer from CCV to participating Vermont colleges and universities.
