Overview
You’ll develop the skills needed to work in a health care setting, performing duties such as patient intake and care, examination assistance, and medication administration. Through a clinical medical assisting internship you’ll have the opportunity to practice clinical duties in a healthcare setting and connect what you’ve learned in the classroom with hands-on experience. This certificate can be completed in three semesters, or as an accelerated pathway in two semesters.

With a CCV certificate in clinical medical assisting you’ll be prepared to:
- Understand basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology to communicate with patients and providers
- Take the Certified Clinical Medical Assisting (CCMA) exam
- Complete an associate degree at CCV through a clear pathway
- Transfer to a partner institution to continue your education

Students who graduate from CCV with a health science degree can choose from 34 transfer pathways into bachelor’s degrees, including 2+2 pathways that guarantee just 60 more credits after earning an associate degree at CCV. Additionally, the Vermont Transfer Guarantee is a partnership that provides guaranteed admission and seamless transfer from CCV to participating Vermont colleges and universities.
