Manufacturing

Professional Studies

As a front-line employee in the manufacturing sector, you know that the skills you have can translate into better positions and better pay. That’s why the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) developed the Certified Production Technician (CPT) program and why CCV offers it. Our CPT certification is an industry-recognized credential that sets you apart in the manufacturing field. Whether you’re an entry-level employee or working at the supervisory level, CPT certification means you’ve mastered the skills, can do the work, and are committed to your work in manufacturing. Moreover, CPT certification means you’ll qualify for higher-wage jobs and positions with stronger room for growth. The program consists of the following courses and credentials:

  • Principles of Manufacturing (3 credits)
    • Safety
    • Quality Practices & Measurement
  • Manufacturing Technology (3 credits)
    • Manufacturing Processes & Production
    • Maintenance Awareness
  • Green Production

CPT credits can be applied toward a STEM Studies degree.

CCV’s CPT program is a significant investment in your future. Upon successful completion, you’ll receive a certification that demonstrates to potential employers that you have the knowledge and skills needed for a manufacturing job, increased job stability and earning power, and a nationally-recognized credential that you can take with you wherever you go.

CCV instructors are working professionals who bring real-world experience into the classroom. Subject theory is balanced with information drawn from instructors’ experiences on the job, which translates into fundamental learning that is tied to real-world applications. CCV students in all programs receive training in their chosen disciplines based on the experience that can only come from professionals working in the field.

At CCV, learning isn’t confined to the classroom. Our students get hands-on training in fields such as computer systems management, medical assisting, and accounting, allowing students to experience for themselves what it’s truly like to work in these fields.

Log on

At CCV, when you take an online class, you can log on and learn from the comfort of your own home, your friend’s home, your local library, an internet café… basically anywhere you have access to the internet.

Collaborate

Learning online doesn’t mean you’re in for a lonely semester. In many classes, you will also have the opportunity to connect with classmates by working on small group projects. You can expect to be online at least three times per week, discussing the topics you are studying with your teachers and fellow students.
