Spotlight on Community Resources

As we’re nearing the end of summer, your CCV Resource Coordinator has assembled some important back-to-school and home owner/tenant resources for you:

VT Family Network Family Support Consultants
Does your school-aged child have an Individual Education Plan (IEP)? Now is a good time of year to review the plan, reach out for guidance, and advocate for the support your child may need. Ask your Resource Coordinator about helpful tools for IEP planning and/or to get connected with a Family Support Consultant at Vermont Family Network. Check out ways to support your child’s transition back to school here.

Free and Reduced Cost School Lunch
Food is an important part of the day when kids are learning, playing, and growing. It’s time to think about healthy snacks and lunches for kids going back to school. Find out if you’re eligible to request free or reduced cost school lunch at your child’s school. Learn about 2018-2019 income eligibility limits here.

Read your Property Tax Adjustment letter – it may be wrong!
Homeowners eligible for property tax adjustments should receive adjustment letters from the Vermont Department of Taxes in July. This year, the Department of Taxes announced that they did not process all adjustment requests on time. Read more about the towns impacted in this article by Vermont Legal Aid.
